Hi I have applied for BC PNP and waiting for their response. What does at least average of 30 hrs per week mean in Bc PNP? Does it mean I can work 20 hrs one week and work 40 hours next week to average 30 hours a week? Will that disqualify me and get them to reject my application? Or do I have to work 30 hours every week.
My second question is if the week contains a stat holiday is that considered in my 30 hour week?

In the BC PNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program), “at least an average of 30 hours per week” generally refers to full-time employment over a specific period.

1. Averaging 30 hours per week:
• Yes, the requirement means that your working hours can be averaged over multiple weeks.

• For example, if you work 20 hours in one week and 40 hours in the next, this would still satisfy the requirement since the average over two weeks would be 30 hours per week.

• As long as the total hours worked in a given period (e.g., a month or the duration of employment being evaluated) average out to 30 hours per week, you should not be disqualified.

• However, you should aim to maintain consistency and not have prolonged gaps or significantly fluctuating hours, as irregular work patterns might raise concerns during the review.

• If a statutory holiday falls during a week, it is typically counted as part of your work hours if you are a full-time employee entitled to holiday pay.

• For example, if you work 22 hours during the week, and a statutory holiday adds 8 paid hours, this brings the total to 30 hours for that week.

• If you are on unpaid leave or do not receive paid time for the holiday, those hours will not count toward the 30-hour requirement.

To avoid potential issues, it is best to maintain as close to 30 hours per week as possible to demonstrate clear compliance.
