Average time to obtain Police Clearance in India

Hi,

I have recently completed my EE profile and I'm looking forward to the next draw. In the meanwhile, I was thinking I should apply for the PCC so that I dont have to wait for it after I get an ITA.

How much time does it take to obtain a PCC in India? I do not have to obtain it from any other country.

It depends on the local police authorities basically. If your passport is less than 1 year old, you can get the PCC same day only. In my case, I renewed my passport last September. I went to PSK Chandigarh and i got my PCC in an hour.

I had my passport renewed last year in September and I visited Ahmedabad PSK with an appointment. I don't live in Ahmedabad, so I had to wait until I got a call from my local police station to go there. They took some signatures and I recieved a message a couple of days later that I can collect the PCC from Ahmedabad PSK. Overall it took less than a week.
