average time taken by Sydney CIO to acknowledge the receipt of application

i am going to write a letter tomorrowo as it is two months now
since i applied NS Sydney..!!

anybody knows the fax no or email >>
or letter will do ????????????????????????????

My opinion, don't write anything to the CIO. The reason is:


You said that you have sent your application on the last week of May by regular mail !!.

Man regular mail sometimes takes (nationally) from within canada up to 12 or 13 days or more to get delivered. For example, i live in canada and i sent my application by the best service in post canada(regular mail) called priority courier on june,2 and it was delivered on june,8 (6 days from within canada)which takes only two hours by airplane from where i live to sydney nova scotia.

you have sent your application from india by regular mail to canada, at the last week of may, it means that your application lasts up to 5 or 6 weeks just to get delivered to sydney nova scotia. so expect that they have recieved your application at the middle of july and have not started processing it yet, they are working now on applications recieved almost up to 25th of june (these information are from the call center inside canada), so your application is not being processed yet and your money order hasn't been cashed yet because your application is not even opened yet and no information will be available on it until they open it.

You are waiting since 60 days according to your calculations, but according to the CIO calculations (recieving date), you might be waiting since only 2 weeks.

Therefore, count at least 2 months after july, 15 to expect any response from the CIO.

My application was recieved by the CIO at june,8 and still waiting too, am able to check the status of my application online because am an international student in canada and i have my client ID number from my study permit.

Anyway, i called the call center at CIC today pretending that i have no any idea about my application except of the delivery conformation by post canada for june, 8. After he had verified my information, he confirmed that they recieved my application at june,8 and he said that it shows in the computer system that they started processing my application at june,29 (i don't know why was that gap between opening and processing the application).

Then he said let me check how long it takes at sydney these days to process an application, after a while he said they take 10 weeks (75 days) from the date of starting processing my application and not even the date of recieving it and he said to me literally (in your case expect to recieve a letter from the CIO at the middle of september (10 weeks after 29 of june) although the recieving date was june,8 not 29.

thats a re-assuring piece of information. u could contact that office on the call cenetre cuz you are IN canada, i cant see a certain way of doing the same from outside canada. anyway, i should expect to hear from them sometime in late september too! good luck professional 1

I APPLIED UNDER FAST TRACK IMMIGRATION PROGRAMME ON APRIL 4TH 2009, DOCUMENTS RECD BY SYDNEY OFFICE ON 15TH , I GOT MY IMMIGRATION FILE NO ON 20 MAY 2009.

I SUBMITTED MY OTHER DOCUMENTS LIKE, PCC, IELTS, PROOF OF FUNDS, JOB DUITIES & OTHER DOCUMENTS ON 27TH JULY. LETS SEE WATS HAPPENS NOW? HOW MUCH TIME WILL MEDICALS TAKE???? CAN ANY BODY HELP ME OUT, B Y WEN I WILL GET MEDICALS, WHAT ARE THE MEDICALS TEST I HAVE TO UNDERGO???

ALL READY 2 MONTHS BODY still waiting aor no no no respose for sydney nova scotia office
My application under federal skilled worker economic class and fast track also so
why they took long time icant understand this is rediculas .

My application was sending from sydney australia to sydney nova scotia on 19 th of may but still waiting for aor

apllication sent - 19th of may
application reached vancouver - 25 may
application reached nova scotia office - 1 st of june
stilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll waiiiiiiiiiiiiiting

not in mail and email everyday i cheked
and address is also correct so whats wrong budy

according to this forum and what we read above, the average time became between 2 months up to 3 months (maybe less or more) to receive a response from CIO.
So patience is the key of the game!!

They cashed my money order on July, 2

I asked my bank for a proof, they ordered a copy of the money order containing the front and back sides of my money order and the back side was stamped with the following :

((The Reciever General for Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Department , the date of cashing the money and some small numbers around the stamp )) and the stamped date was july 2.

Reached CIO on 28th July 2009

Looking at the other posts and the average processing time, I ' ll wait for an answer....

I guess you need to check it out. Per my understanding of the posts, looks like Jun applicants (whose applications have reached CIO in June) have started getting the AORs.
