Authorized to work after receiving COPR inland - what to do?

Hi,

If on a visitor visa but PR application has been approved and COPR (NOTE: Inland located in Ontario) is given (but no PR card), are you authorized to work again or what steps do you do?

Do you need to go get a new SIN or wait for the PR Card?

Once you get new SIN, you can start working.

I assume that takes a long time currently with the current situation? Am I right in thinking you being the Copr document to service Canada?

Yes. You take your approved CoPR to Service Canada and get a new SIN. Then only you can work.

Do you know if this is by appointment only a la Biometrics or just walk in and they can do it?

Right now, you can update / apply for SIN only via online or via mail. No walk ins.

Hopefully not the web form as I imagine that will take weeks for a response.

In that page, you will get the link to apply for SIN online.
