Australian unclear on how to extend working holiday visa (IEC)?

I'm trying to workout how to extend my working holiday visa, I only took the one year offer at the immigration instead of the 2 year because my insurance company would not let me buy a 2 year insurance only a 1 year. I'm staying in Montreal Quebec and planning on staying here for another year. Do I have to reapply with the whole pool again or is there a shorter way which doesn't require as long?

an IEC cannot be extended so unfortunately the period you were assigned at the border is it as the insurance requirement would have been the issue which always seems a harsh requirement given CIC have no idea how hard it is to even get 2 years travel insurance. Add to that if just a visitor there is no real push on landing to have any insurance as is down to the individual so a bit inconsistent plus travel insurance only covers emergencies anyway not regular or scheduled medical.

Depends on your country whether you can apply again given most countries it is a one off.
