Australian Police Certificate with Fingerprints

Hello,

I am in the process of gathering all the information for my permanent resident visa application. I have lived in Australia (Melbourne) between 2003 and 2007, so I need to provide an Australian Police Certificate.

I read from the CIC web site that I need to obtain a Certificate with fingerprint check.

I currently live in Belgium and am not able to obtain my fingerprints here. The Belgian police won't do it. I have contacted repeatedly the Canadian immigration services to ask how I can obtain my fingerprints so that I can send them to the Australian Police, but I have not gotten any satisfactory answer.

I read from this forum that some people have had similar issues, and am interested to hear how you have solved the problem. Did you send your Australian Police Certificate without fingerprint check? Do I need to travel to Canada/Australia only to get my fingerprints taken?

This problem prevents me from lodging my visa application, so I would be grateful for your answers.

Cedric.

According to the US Embassy/Brussels website, "The Tri-Mission Association provides fingerprint services to the private sector."

Hello.....we are having a similar problem. My husband is Australian and needs fingerprints for his police check and we live in France. The Mairie doesn't know who to send us to, the local gendarmerie say they don't do this.....does anyone know where we go to get fingerprints done?

Thanks

you can try at the US Embassy in Paris - note it's not the Embassy that does it, it's the American Aid Society, but I think their office is at the Embassy -

American Aid Society/Fingerprints

Please note that local police stations may be able to assist you with your fingerprinting needs. We also understand that the American Aid Society (“AAS”), a private, non-profit, volunteer organization provides fingerprint services for a fee on appointment to U.S. or French citizens for certain purposes. Please note that the AAS does not provide fingerprint services for people seeking U.S. visas or U.S. citizenship. AAS may be reached at 01.43.12.27.73.
