Australian on Working Holiday Visa

Hi,
I have been trying to get in touch with CIC but to no avail. All there lines are busy.
I have landed here via a google search.

I have a question about "Implied Status"

I am Australian on WHV(working holiday visa/International Experience Canada"

My work permit is expiring on the 14 of September.

I have been told that I can't RE-NEW my visa, but only apply for a new one. I have done that and it is in process.

Am I still under Implied Status? Please remember that is is not an extension of WHV/IEC, but a new applicaiton for get WHV?IEC.

My doubts for implied status come from the fact that one can NOT extend my current type of visa, only reapply for a new one. Is this still implied status?

Please help.

I just spoke to a CIC agent.
He says that I can't stay in Canada under implied status as this is a new application.
Just in case anyone else wants to know...cruel...
