aussie police check

hi all,

the above title is only thing just now delaying my application to join my partner in canada just now. i am so frustrated and could really do with a word of advice from someone. i was in oz for a year 2005 and have sent them 2 letters, forms from AFP website with my fingerprints, and cheques for my police record check, but still they haven't sent me anything back. I am from the UK and for my visa application to continue i need the security check done. i dont know what else i can do, i have emailed the AFP aswell and they told me what to do and i have, but still it is taking them months to do the record check.

i have wrote to London about this and told them it is taking ages but i dont want to have to wait forever and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this kinda thing.

The Aussie Police have a bad tendency to send the results to the Sydney office, which not having a record of you are probably sitting on them. So send an email to both Sydney and London, London asking them to check with Sydney to see if they have the record and Sydney, if they have them, send them to London.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply first time they sent them to sydney, so this time I said to them on the letter to send the results back to ME lol and I would send them to London. I wrote to London yesterday and told them I am still waiting on the aussie results. I also emailed the AFP few days ago but had no reply yet from them telling them that i am still waiting.

cant blv the hassle this has caused so frustrating.

My husband is from Australia as well. We applied some time in August, and didn't hear back from them till about November. They needed a copy of his driver's license, but didn't bother asking until we called.

They do have a tendency to sit on stuff. So I suggest you call them up and find out what's happening. They're usually very nice about it.
