My girlfriend is Romanian and she's an au pair in the UK. However, the agencies she went through (Romanian and English agencies working in partnership) never told her she needed a Visa to work as an au pair in the UK. The family she is currently with wasn't notified either. So she has basically been in the UK for the past 2 years illegally working as an au pair for this family. She found out it was illegal after a year and the family is afraid they can get in trouble if they try sorting things out.
I've been reading about the requirements about her coming to Canada as an au pair and they ask for working experience. Would these illegal years of work count still? And could she get in trouble with UK immigration? I'm not sure if this is just impossible for her to do now because of her situation. Any help would be great.
