Good evening Bryanna,

My friend would like to visit Global Petroleum Show (she is a petroleum engineer) in Calgary next year and see tourist attractions in Alberta and Ontario.

She has a good stable job and an apartment + mortgage + family (parents and siblings) + good travel history.

If I write her an invitation letter, will she have a good chance of getting a TRV? I am a Canadian citizen who lives in Mississauga.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,

Danil

Hi Danil,

For the event:
It is advisable if her employer pays for the entire event component of the visit and the international airfare + if she has previously attended similar shows + the event is in line with her work responsibilities/can benefit her career or it is necessary to represent her employer + she includes registration, event details, etc.

For the tourist aspect:
She must prepare a detailed day-by-day plan for the visit (both the event + tourism ) and prove she has the personal finances to pay for the tourism component (airfare, hotels, expenses, local travel, etc)

To answer your question:
Your letter would help only for the tourism aspect of her visit, not for attending the show

Cheers
