Hello,
I am an Indian person. I made an ATIP request to know the reason for the refusal of my visitor visa some 37 days ago. I filed an ATIP request using my Canadian friend, but I asked her to give my email address so that I receive the information directly to my email. I followed them up to know why my application is getting delayed by sending an email to ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca. There reply was as follows:
Thank you for contacting the Access to Information and Privacy Office.
Please note that due to privacy regulations, we may only discuss files with the original requester, authorized representative or designated individual. If the requester would like to contact our office we will be happy to further assist.

So, should I ask my friend to send them the follow-up email? The only issue is, I have given my email address while filling the ATIP form.

As you authorized/signed the consent form in favor of your friend, she must follow up.

There's no assurance that GCMS notes will be issued within the 4-5 weeks stated by IRCC. It could take longer if IRCC has received a high number of requests

My friend has given my email address. So, when my friend from Canada sends an email to follow up, how would they know if its the email address of my friend. I have a tracking id.

There shouldn't be an issue if your girlfriend contacts IRCC from the email address stated in the ATIP request.

I do think, however, that IRCC possibly has a large number of such requests. Hence, the delay. You should wait
