ATIP, Its Pros and Cons on RQed Applicants

Hi all,
What are the potential impact of ordering ATIP on RQed applications? I read on some other threads that an applicant may find information on the reasons of issuing RQ. As I noticed in some cases, some information uploaded by CIC could be wrong. Referring to my timeline below in my signature , do you think it is a good idea to order and ATIP to find out reasons of RQ? and if anything wrong with the data, it can be fixed right away.

Hi I got RQ and ordered ATIP I dont see the reason in the report why do I got the rq. The report is too much information and most of them I dont understand he he he some of them are just the information about the background check and date of the applications, exams etc etc. Waited for 1 month on the report and at the end of the day it wont help me at all I even payed 5 bucks he he he

Your case is so new. I would suggest to wait for a while before you order ATIP. No one knows for sure if it affects processing time or if it doesn't. There are applicants from 2011 who have not ordered even one ATIP and there are applicants from 2014 who have applied like dozens of ATIP. So if you wait for a while and order one say 6 months from now then it will make sense. If not you may have to order one more say 7 or 8 months even though ordered one now

Actually I was under the impression that ATIP include indirectly reasons for RQ. One applicant mentioned at another thread that his entry date was incorrect on ATIP. Such a mistake by CIC could cause a lot of issues such as RQ.

That is request of copy of physical file notes. Which is extensive and the officer has to scan or copy and send you by email depending on how large your file is. Most RQ recipients have a bulky file. So It takes them a while to send you the ATIP report also they have redact some comments that may be regarding your security clearance and so on. If your case takes more than a year from the time it goes to St.Clair it makes sense to request a physical ATIP notes or else I would not bother. Again this is my opinion. I'm sure there may be someone in this forum who knows better about the ATIP than I do. If they gave their experience or knowledge then you can look into those options. For now if I were you forget this enjoy life and when they call for a test go and attend it successfully. In the interview you can ask any other questions you have to them. My interviewer said my file will be forwarded to St.Clair to be reviewed there and she cannot answer anything until they do the review.

Thanks Chikloo for your opinion. It doesn’t seem ATIP is of a value to my case at this stage. Hopefully to get things done fast. BTW, what do you mean by ‘local office updated RQ file’. How did you know that? Does the ECAS showed this?

I called the call center and they told me that the local office has updated they have got my RQ response.
