AEO charges for IELTS test Rs 11,000
While
British Council Charges Rs 9,300

If both are offering same English Test then why they are charging different Fees?

Guys your experience required.

Which test centre is easier to score 7.5 Band? IELTS from AEO or British Councils Karachi, Pakistan?

Is there any difference between AEO IELTS and British Council IELTS?

Obviously, when BritCoun outsource their services to another company, they have to pay them extra. And that extra has to come from the applicants.

Ok thats why there is fees difference...But among sudents there is General Belief that they can score Well if they give IELTS from Australian AEO.

My many friends goes for AEO only and they score pretty Good

British council is out sourcing nothing bec this is the cambridge university and a long story. Anyways i am a hotlier and mostly dealing with BC and AEO as well. Only difference is the enviornment and facilities. For example AEO conduct their exams only in a Four Star hotel in Islamabad and as compared to british council go for cheaper hotels where cost is low. And for the high marks only this confortable enviornment makes the difference otherwise all same.

Hmmm now it makes sense, So u mean i should go for AEO?

And any of you have given IELTS test? If yes so please share your experience...

what kind of experience.?

they take the listening test 1st, then the reading followed by writing.

you come back later for the interview at the time and place allotted.

In Chandigarh, British Library does everything in 3 to 4-star hotels, but does not provide any food at the end of the test.

So do u face any trouble during Listening section? I heard it is one of the most toughest section

what can i say before the results come out on 12th :)

i thought, the writing one needed a little more time to cross-check grammer and spellings. The listening too was quite thought provoking. I was expecting it to be a cake-walk, me having a neutral accent inspired from RP, but actually it was not.

so what can you advice me concerning to IELTS. I am planning to give IELTS in july....Don't know how to prepare for exam. It seems easy but actually it is tough....

well, ithink i was a bit overcofident because i thought it would be easy as i've interacted with americans and english regularly for over 10 yrs, but that helped only in listening section. as i said, i can advice only after seeing my results.

bottom line, it's better to prepare than regret

is there any Good website available for practicing IELTS Listening module?

Well, now i can suggest you bakuSalman... i got my results today...

British Library had given a free copy of Cambridge press past papers book 6 (including listening CD for the 4 tests). It had 4 full academic tests and 2 reading /writing General tests.

One night before the IELTS test, I opened that book and tried 2 out o 4 listening modules. I was getting 1 or max 2 wrong in that. so, i left it over there expecting it to be a cakewalk - i've scored 8.5 here. so, maybe 1 or 2 went wrong here.

Then I tried the 2 GT reading tests in it and got 5 wrong in 1 and 7 wrong in the other. As per websites, this would've fetched me 6.5 or 7. So, i left it there... I scored 6.5...

The book had situations for the writing test. I read through the model answers to ensure what they were looking at. Ithought content was important. So, I gave a lot of stress on the quality of content. I scored 7 in this. So, content was wrong choice. Go through some grammer books and have your English fundamentals in place. Bonus points for using elaborate vocabulary.

In speaking again, i went in very casually expecting it to be a normal introduction and discussion on a current affairs topic. So, I had read my newspaper well in the morning. On the cantrary, it was a very formal affair in the room of a five-star hotel. spear clear and continuous sentences. Once can hardly practice in this, frankly. Only years of english speaking experience will come handy. they give you a topic to speak on for 5 mins and before that they give you 1 minute to gather thoughts. I ran out of ideas at the end of 3.5 mins and stopped. The interviewer raised an eyebrow :) . Then, i started repeating what i said, but it was embarassin. So, try and keep your head straight and dont go mute anytime withou a proper closing. I guess, that made me lose points. I scored 7.5 in this. The entire interview is recorded. So, better be nice and cordial from Go.

overall - 7.5... claiming 16... but, not happy with myself about my scores.
