Hello All,

First of all I must appriciate that this is a gr8 forum to help each other.God bless us all.
My wife is is canadian PR holder and since one month she is living with me in dubai. We got married in may 2013 and just started living together. My wife was on social assistance till october 2013 but after that she stopped social assistance and she got letter for that also. Now my question is that if my wife applies for option C printout will this information be on that letter also and based on that information will she be eligible to sponsor me.

If she is no longer receiving social assistance since October 2013, and is sure she is off the list of social assistance recipients, then yes, she can sponsor you.

As a PR of Canada, she will have to move back to Canada remain living in Canada while sponsoring you. She is only allowed short trips out of the country (no more than 2-3 weeks is recommended) otherwise she won't be eligible as a sponsor.

She will also have to prove that she has the means to support herself and you in Canada. If you go onto social assistance within 3 years of becoming a PR yourself, she will have to pay all of it back to the government.
