I am planning to apply for PR under FSW. I am now in work permit in Canada along with my husband, who is in post graduation work permit. We both are from INDIA.

1. For "Proof of funds", can I show my husband's bank deposit(Bank in India) and land documents as an asset(in India).
2. My husband has a joint account with his father, is it ok to show the funds from that account?
3. Me and my husband don't have any bank balance here in Canada. Is that a must that we have to show funds in our Canadian bank or can we show the funds which are in India?

Deposits in the bank accounts of you or your husband in any country can be shown for proof of funds. It is not necessary that it should be in a Canadian bank. Property valuation is a difficult job and it it is not done properly you will shed lot of money for nothing.

Balance can be shown from any local or foreign accounts so long as you and/or your spouse are the single or joint account holders in it.

If liability is nil and there are no separate assets to be shown then Assets = Settlement funds because assets include settlement funds.

I've answered you in the main thread.

1. Yes. Land is not settlement funds though.
2. Joint accounts not acceptable with anyone other than spouse.
3. Funds can be anywhere.
