Hi
My study permit expires on sep 30th, same with my off campus work permit, here is my problem.
I get my money from a grant from my homecountry which fully covers the tuition etc. Now i failed one course in the fall term of 2009 which made my homecountry want me to take a .5 credit to cover for that, my other issuse is that i was not a full time student in the spring term of 2010 only took 1.5 out of 2.0 credits (2.0 is full time status) and since i failed that course in the fall term of 2009 i technically only got 1.5 credits even with a full time course load. now when i reapply for an extension or if i wait until the winter term of 2010/2011 would this be an issue to be considered for a new/extended permit?
And how hard is it to get a permanent resident card? which from my understanding would give me the ability to study and work without the hassle of study permits and off campus permits? does it have to be 2 years with no trips out of canada? i did leave for the summer of 2009, from April to August and a short visit back home during 2010, would that void the counting towards my requriements of days?

Appreciate any answers!
