Asking the sponsor for more financial information after the visa went in?

Has anyone heard of Canada asking the sponsor for more financial proof of the sponsor after the visa went in? I thought they just rejected it?

Assuming you are asking about a visitor visa - yes, that would be extremely unusual. Normally they just accept or refuse. They don't ask for more info.

In fact the sponsor is subject to little research, it is secondary to the application, so they don't really bother double checking documents.

Nothing weird about additional information. I apply 2 months ago for TRV. Firstly, after one month, they asked me for financial support of my sponsor who is my husband. I sent all documents and after 2 weeks they asked me for the same proof of our relationship than they request for Permanent residency. This doesn't make sense. I had the TRV the last year without any problem but now, they are asking too much... That is the way, I say Nothing weird!

Just waiting...
