Hi guys, i am from Europe and i was working last year in Canada (Alberta/Calgary) for a 9 months. I read something that i have to work at least 12 months to ask about CEC. My question is, if is some chance to get Permanent Residence if i was working just 9 months. Did you hear about some case or about somebody pls? I would love to live in Canada, its so beautiful :'(.

P.S.: I have Master's degree but from Europe (Slovakia). And i had open work permit for one year...

No, you can't apply if you only worked for 9 months. You need to work for 12 months in order to qualify.

If you apply with only 9 months of work experience, you'll definitely get rejected.

Concur with Johnny on this one. You might be able to skate through if you were missing a week or a day, as some have mentioned to have been so lucky. However, 12 months AND 1560 hours is the expected norm, and falling quite short of that will only result in a certain rejection. Nothing against trying your luck, but you'd most definitely be wasting time and money. Sorry!

Not sure about your circumstances...but look into IEC. I know quite a few European countries that have bilateral agreements on (youth) exchange. If you fulfill the requirements, its one of the fastest entry points into Canada and the labor market. There's also education and the PGWP afterwards. Just depends on how bad you want to come here.

Best of luck..

Yea, for sure! A company like IBM, if paperwork is done correctly, could easily do an Intra-Company Transfer. Google the term and do some research. The good part is that you would be exempt from HRSDC involvement. Here is sample info from Campbell Cohen.. Note though that there are still requirements to be met.
