Hello All,

I took an assessment in the site Canadavisa.com and received a reply from Attorney David Cohen asking for my resume which i forwarded, after which i received one more reply stating that i am ideal candidate with various details and was asked to pay 1990 USD in two installments to process my paper work

Are these guys genuine, how can i trust them?

Regards,
Dex

There is little an attorney can do that you can't do for yourself. Canada has a points system, and you either have the points or you don't.

CIC has their rules for who gets work permits and permanent residence, and attorneys are unable to change them. They can help with appeals when things go wrong, they can help catch mistakes if you make them. Express entry is to a large extent uploading requested documents to a web page.

Whether or not that's worth $2,000 is ultimately up to you.

Hiring an attorney doesn't guarantee you anything. You are just making someone responsible for all your communications to and from CIC. Like what kateg mentioned, all they do they check and double check and again check again for mistakes that one might commit in their documentation as they have years of experience in validating those documents and CIC procedures.

I personally know 4 candidates who applied through FSWP 2014 and now have got their Visa stamped. But they did really go through repeated cross checking in their documents and none of them were requested for any additional documents. One good thing about CIC is that they provide all the required information in their website. So it is really upto you to have someone else do the work for you incase you receive an ITA or you yourself can start reading the website and do it by yourself. Its just a personal choice.
