Asked to get fingerprints done again...

Hello,

I was supposed to take the oath on March 20th but that ceremony got cancelled. Now I finally heard back from CIC, but the e-mail I received wasn't a virtual ceremony invitation, it was a request for fingerprints "in order to continue processing my application", I am very confused as to what happened, all I was missing was my oath ceremony and now I need to submit fingerprints again. Has anyone else experienced this?

May be your security clearance expired that has a validity of one year.

Thats why it’s always better to keep your MP of your area aware of the application process once one year past.
It looks like you have done your fingerprints last year August 2019 , the due date for that is one year, and when they started processing your application they found that they need to update the criminal certificate
Unfortunately they don’t have a clear strategy how to clear applications before certification gets expired, the problem Wasting time and money for you because they might get back to you after 3 months minimum from the time you submit your new fingerprint.
You can do it again but file a complaint of such careless way of processing your application through MP

Thank you, I will do so. I haven't seen any other person from the same timeline experience this, and they are also - from what the website says - not requesting biometrics for other applications, I am honestly confused by this.
