Hi all,

Can I claim points for my four years articles with a Chartered Accountancy firm? I am confused because during my articles my duties were same as are mentioned in NOC code 1111 "Financial auditors and accountants" and in description it is mentioned that "Articling students in accounting firms are included in this unit group" but some body told me that one can not claim points for articles.

Please advise.

Regards

Faisal.

IMHO, No because you were "training" for the job, and not a Auditor nor Accountant. It is like an apprenticeship for a welder, you are not classed as a qualified welder until you finish.

I think you can claim points for article clerk experience under ca regulations. You are given points based on quailification separately and experience separately. I have read some posts in this forum where some were claiming experience points for their vacational jobs. I will send the application to novascotia if i was in your situation. As novascotia will decide whether the experience is counted or not and if not i will get my refund albeit after three months or so.

Hi,

I'm also having the same query. I've got 3+ years experience at Ernst & Young under contract. Will this be considered for FSW?

Thanks.
