arriving in Canada, proof of funds at the airport

My spouse and I have obtained work permits for Canada, and our PR application through the AIP program is currently in progress. We are scheduled to travel to Canada in a few weeks for the first time. Are we likely to be asked by the immigration officer at the airport to provide proof of funds? if so, can I provide foreign bank account statements on paper (or through mobile app)? We do not intend to carry a significant amount of cash with us, as our plan is to transfer funds from our foreign account to a newly opened account once we are in Canada. Meanwhile, we will use our foreign debit cards. Please advise

They may not ask for it since you are new in Canada
