Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO) 2012 Processing times

Please share your timeline and processing time to obtain AEO for the year 2012?
How long does it take nowadays to obtain AEO?? Back in 2010 and 2011 it used to take over six months. Please share to estimate time and educate.
Until new legislation comes into effect, we will still be using AEO.

1. Still about 6 months.
2. No, there won't be AEOs under the proposed new regulations. There will a form of LMOs to replace the AEOs.

Thank you for sharing PMM. Yes, AEO will be replaced for LMO but this is not currently in effect, if you were to apply today or next month or next month you would still have to do it using AEO or am I wrong?

P.s: 6 months is lot, when exactly did you apply? My first application took close to 4 months but was denied. My employer wants to reapply by January next year.

Employer applied on August 2012 and still no any reply. How long is taking to get any answer from service canada? anyone pls.

I heard is only taking a few weeks nowadays, did your employer submit the CRA (tax forms) if so did he show a profit or a loss?

When did you first submit your application to HRSDC for AEO? 5 weeks is a record time!

The Process of getting AEO really depends on your Employer........what and how he gives evidences and required doc. and now a days HRDC started Interview of Employer over Phone............a call of one hour sometimes...........so..............normal time is 4 month it can be extended to 6 month in case of any doubt.......

Hi All

My application for AEO was submitted in Aug 2012, we still have no news yet however every week I am hopeful.. Where this is taking so long we have decided to also apply for an LMO so between the two I will get to Canada this year!

Anyone else going for the two options?

Why do you need LMO? Do you want to apply for work visa also?

Hi anatolm,

The reason to go for both if you have a job offer is unfortunately the time it takes for the AEO to be processed and then the actual FSW visa processing time on top could be anything up to 2 years, whereas the TFW processing is shorter, LMO (still unsure for Vancouver for me) and then the work permit up to 2 months. I was meant to start my new job last month but we have been waiting for the AEO, now decided to apply for the TFW while my PR visa is processing.

Do you have a job offer?

I am waiting for my AEO too. I read that it takes up to 6 month to get it. Acooding to the CIC it takes 6 month to proceed FSW visa with arranged employement. I'm going to wait for May 4, there will be much more shorter processing times for FWS acooding to the new rules.
