Hi,

I am still confused in a few questions.

I am sponsoring my wife, I am a Canadian citizen, currently living in Colombia with my wife.I have a 3 years temporary visa since she sponsored me, but it's not a resident visa.

I still have everything in Canada, drivers licence, pay taxes, I even work for a Canadian company online.

There are 3 questions that are a little bit confusing for me.

on IMM1344 : Are you a canadian citizen living exclusively outside canada ? I would say no, but I am not sure.

Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? not sure.

on IMM 5540 where it says : Are you currently living in Canada? I would say no for sure.

But I am not sure if I can but not living in Canada but they other 2 has to match or what would I say!

thanks for your help!

However you answer the questions, just make sure you explain the situation exactly as it is, that way the VO will understand completely and they won't think you're trying to hide anything.

You say:

currently living in Colombia with my wife

Unless you are splitting your time between Colombia and Canada, it sounds to me like you are living exclusively outside of Canada, and you do not reside in Canada, and you are not currently living in Canada. As a Canadian citizen you are able to sponsor your wife even if you are living outside of Canada, so don't worry about that part of it.

so I would say :

IMM1344 : Are you a canadian citizen living exclusively outside canada ? Yes
Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? NO
IMM 5540 where it says : Are you currently living in Canada? NO

It doesn't matter what you have in Canada. The question is where do you live. You are not on vacation in Colombia so you live there. The part about having your things in Canada would be a question to do with Revenue Canada in regards to paying taxes or not. But in this case it's just a matter of answering the question logically.

thanks for your help so to make sure for my case it would be like this :

IMM1344 : Are you a canadian citizen living exclusively outside canada ? Yes
Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? NO
IMM 5540 where it says : Are you currently living in Canada? NO

That's right.

Some of the things you mentioned could help to show you will move back to Canada once your spouse gets pr approval. Not to mention the fact that you have a temporary permit to be in Colombia.

You could also show housing searches you have done online to show the area you would like to live. You could also ask your family to write some support letters and saying they're excited for your return or if you will be living with them while searching for your own place, that would be good as well.
