We applied for residency under cec December 2010 had our Medicals august 2011 and still have yet to hear anything from buffalo vo! We sent a question to them last month asking if there was a problem as it had been 3 months since our medical all we got was an email back saying our file was in process and had been since 12th august.

Has anyone else out there been waiting as long as us? as I keep reading comments from people on here who have had there ppr who only applied a few months ago it is starting to feel like we are never going to hear anything.

Our work visa expired November 18th and we are on implied status at the moment as our lmo application for our work visa extension is also taking forever to be processed if we don't have that in the next month our wp extension is going to get denied. I am not sure what will happen then :-( I don't know if we will have to leave Canada and go back to England while we await our pr to be processed. The stress of waiting is really starting to get to me now. We have 2 children one of which is settled in school here and it would really affect him if we had to pull him out of school and move him back to England again.

Hi - if you go to trackitt, you can sort applicants by their application date, and you will see there are still plenty of 2010 applicants in process. Hard to tell with some (maybe they're finished but just didn't update trackitt), but others have updated their profiles recently.

You just have the bad luck to be "in process" under the "old system." My application took 14-15 months, so don't feel too bad...

Hey i just finish medical exam and hand in some documents they need. only thing i can say is be patient.
taking long is not the end of the world, you just extend your working permit. doesnt have to leave right away.

Your timeline matches with mine EXACTLY. Applied Early Dec, 2010. Sent Medicals in August, 2011. And I am waiting for the next step since them. I am almost on the edge with this whole thing and I know exactly what you are going through. My e-cas shows the same thing "In process".. Now, I have stopped checking it every day. But I guess, there is no other option for us .. other than to wait.

I contacted CIC early November enquiring about the status of my application. They obligated with the following (somewhat-generic) response :

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.Due to high volumes, we cannot acknowledge receipt of email, fax, regular correspondence (applications, payments, documents or information) or medical exam results.

If you have recently submitted documents or information to this office, we will update your file accordingly, if needed. If we require additional documents, we will contact you.

e-Cas is for applications processing within Canada only. Immigration cases being processed in Visa offices outside Canada use a system different from that used to process similar applications in Canada. As a result, the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) does not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.
