Are French and English tests both required?

Hi,

First post, at the very beginning of the process!

I'm apparently an eligible candidate for Express Entry under FSWC after completing the free assessment on this site and I'm now in the process of pulling everything together to start the application.

My first question – no doubt of many – is how important is it to do the French test. I completed a French A-Level (A2) at secondary school in England, but this line is confusing me:
  • A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, or
Would my A-level count? It was achieved in 2002.

I'm happy to book for the French test, but not if it's not essential. My score is apparently 501 so if getting it higher with that test will help then great, but if I can save the money then that would be awesome...

Any help would be great. Thanks – this forum has already been super helpful.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Only take the test if you wish to claim points for it.

Otherwise your IETLS is sufficient.
