Are different occupations treated differently in Express Entry?

Hello guys, I have a question regarding occupation quotes. So I've talked to one of my friends, I believe that as long as you made the cut (CRS points equal or higher than the gov's cutoff in the draw), you will get ITA no matter the demand of your occupation. We have such a concern because we are financial auditors, which is definitely that kind of occupation that supply is way larger than demand). Therefore, his concern is that certain occupation with high demand in Canada would have priorities in maybe ITA or PR processing. But I didn't not see any information mentioned about this issue.

Anyone knows the fact for certain? Very much appreciate it in advance!!!

I do not have any information on this but a personal view would be that I cannot see any Government department spending a lot of time creating regular spreadsheets of in demand occupations and using that data to issue ITAs. An applicant either meets the target points or they don't which is where supply/demand comes in based on applicant quota and target points for a particular draw.

From time to time they may move certain occupations between NOC skill categories and yes they may collate data of in demand occupations to make those decisions based on long term trends but there are many occupations if you browse the NOC listings where you think why is that occupation in a certain code or even in demand. For example is there really a shortage of hair stylists in Canada (NOC 6341 B) ? But if a hair stylist applies and has enough points they will get an ITA maybe eventually ..Same could be said for teachers which is known to have to have an oversupply versus demand.

So in summary and is a personal view ITAs will get issued regardless of current demand if meeting the cutoff for a draw and occasionally occupations may change NOC category if demand exceeds supply but that would be based a long term trend. Remember the NOC categories are all about attracting talent to Canada for the future so if any PR decisions were based on demand only with current economy there would be a lot fewer new PRs. Plus regardless of demand or not too many people expect to land and walk into a job, it takes time the same as it could in a home country so patience is also something a potential PR needs to bring with them.

The occupation is irrelevant for receiving an ITA, as long as it is skilled work ( NOC classes 0, A or B). The only thing that matters for receiving an ITA is having enough points to meet or exceed the cutoff score in a given draw.

Ever since the new EE system got started, type of job is no longer important. Overall score is all that matters.

However, some PNP programs still have specific streams for in demand occupations so at the moment thats the only distinction left.
