Hi All,

I am currently filling out my application form for express entry. I have worked as an architectural assistant/ designer (job title was designer) for the last year & a half. I have a bachelor and a masters degree in architecture.

I originally thought that my NOC code would be 2151 Architects, Type A. However, I am now starting to believe this cannot be my NOC code as I have not completed the architect registration examination (requirement) and I am not registered with a regulatory body.

I now believe I might have to apply under NOC code 2251- Architectural Technologist and technicians, Type B as this has less requirements.

Can anyone please advise me on this??

The NOC selection should be as per the job duties/responsibilities that you have currently doing... so if you think your job duties closely resembles to the one of NOC 2251 then choose otherwise you can select the an alternate one maybe an 2151/architect

Hey Jmartin! I am glad I am coming by your messages. I have a similar profile, I've done my masters and worked for a couple of years, but never got around to registering myself. Is acquiring a license a necessary part of for the NOC 2151? Which NOC did you finally go ahead with for your application?

Hello! Please help us out if you have already completed your immigration applications. What did you end up doing? Same situation here. A consultant I personally reached out to said I would be an architect, but my workplace's consultant said to use architectural technician. I am intending to submit as an architect soon unless I hear further warnings. My duties are similar to that of an architect.
