April 2011 applicant still waiting

I applied for my PR under CEC category in April, 2011. Was asked to do medicals in August and they received my medical results by September 27, 2011. My file says they started processing my file on September 27th, 2011. Since then I haven't heard received any updates from CIC. I wasn't asked to do my RCMP check. My work permit expired on December 22nd so I left Canada and now I am waiting outside of Canada.

Are there any April 2011 candidates who are still waiting to get a response from CEC?
Do you know how long it usually takes to get a request for passport?
Some of my friends have already received their request for passport so I am starting to get really stressed out.

May 1, 2011. Since then I have not heard ANYTHING nor was I asked to do my
Meds. NOw you tell me!

You should send a case-specific inquiry to your visa office to ask about your status. Depending on the timeline your application is in, they might give you the standard response of your application is in process, or in my case, they let me know that my case was transferred. Since it's been more than 3 months since they've received your medicals, you should get more than just the standard response.

I'm a Feb 2011 applicant and I'm still waiting here for PPR in Canada with our work permits expiring last November 2011 and you're stressed!!
