Approved new TRV, can I get the stamp at the border?

Hi!

So I already have my new open work permit, but didn't applied for the new TRV 'till now. I'll probably get the approval before the end of the week, and then they will ask me to send the passport to Ottawa.

Problem is, I'm traveling in two weeks to the US, and by timelines I'm seeing there's no way I'll get my passport back before that.

So my question is, can I travel to the US, and on my way back show my approval letter of the TRV and get it stamp at the border? (If you can do that for a work permit, don't see a reason why you couldn't for this).

I wouldn't be applying for a new TRV, I would have the approval already, just missing the stamp. Please let me know, thanks!!

You can travel to US without TRV . You just need valid permit to re enter Canada. You need TRV if you are coming back from any other country except USA.

Have any valid trv but only valid work permit?
Is there any link that u can send me thy proves that it is ok to travel to US with just valid work permit?

I don't have TRV and have travelled to states with valid work permit and they did let me in many times. To be sure you can call border security number and make sure. Sorry I don't have any contact number but google it you can find the right contact number. But I am sure you can travel.

You can travel to US and go back to Canada with an expired TRV, that's for sure because I called CIC regarding this matter too

So i was just reading this thread can any one please confirm what documents will be required on the Canadian border if i am traveling to USA by road, I have the Following things.

1. Vaild Multiple Entry Student Visa until March 2019
2. Valid Work Permit

And also would like to ask that if i have got the acceptance from CIC can i get my TRV stamped on Canada border?
