Hello all;
I am sponsoring my wife for Permanent Residency (I am Canadian born, she is Brazilian). We are both in Ontario and completed the application from within Canada.
We each received letters in the mail today; my letter indicated that I have met the sponsor requirement. My wife's letter indicated they have validated the relationship and approved her application in principal. Now they must validate medical, security and background checks.
I'm a bit confused because they have already rec'd the medical exam records (per their website), and we have submitted all required security documentation with the original submission (eg. fingerprints, security clearances). Does anyone have an idea how long this will take? I'm guessing since they already have the medical records they are simply waiting on security checks. Has anyone recently gone through this process?
Also, am I correct in assuming that an interview will not be necessary given the steps we have already completed?
Many thanks;
Cory
