Applying within Canada gave two options: Extend and Super Visa

I'm confused please help. My mom is currently in Canada with a multiple visitor visa, her status will expire in May. When I try to extend her visitor record online, after asking a couple of questions it gives two options:

  • Visitors (in Canada)
  • You may be eligible to extend your stay in Canada as a visitor / tourist.
  • Super Visa (in Canada)
  • You may be eligible to extend your stay in Canada using a parent and grandparent super visa.
My understanding was, according to CIC website, that you have to apply for a Super Visa outside Canada. With those two options above, does that mean that you can actually exten a visitor record and apply for a super visa inside Canada?

Also, when I continue with the visitor option it asks: "Have you lived in a designated country or territory for more than six months in the last year? (required) "

When I see the designated countries, my country is on the list, however it has a NO in the column that states "Inmmigration Medical Exam Required" You need a medical exam if there is a “yes” in the second column. Countries are listed alphabetically. Certain overseas locations may also be listed under the country of sovereignty, such as the United Kingdom.

so, I'm not sure if I should answer to YES or NO to the question. Any advice here?

You can extend her stay as a visitor or extend her stay using a parent and grand parent super visa (if she has one). Thats why it does not say you can apply for super visa, and instead it says you can apply to extend your stay....Is she came with a super visa then that would be her option if she was apply to extend her stay. If she came with a visitor visa then.

As for the country, if she has lived in that designated country regardless of whether or not medicals are required, you should select YES.
