Applying TRV from Canada for Someone in India

I have PR and would like to invite 1/2 of my friends from India on TRV by sending them an invitation letter.

My Question Is -
Can I apply their TRV from Canada or do they have to apply it from India using my invitation letter?

Your friends should really be applying for their own TRVs since they will need to include their personal information , proof of their own savings, etc.
