Hi.

Im a tfw and still waiting for my work permit. Im giving birth this coming june and my mom wanted to come over. She will be applying 'regular' tourist visa since i cannot sponsor her but the reason we are about to put is to visit family. Do i still need to give her invitation letter and tell the officer that shes staying with me? all the expenses will shoulder by her except for the house since shes staying with me.

Shes still working in a heathcare sector in government, has some land assests, shes staying with my youngest brother whos still studying.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, an invitation letter will help.... stating you will take care of her travel and living expenses + accommodation.

You must also give copies of your passport + immigration status in Canada + NOA/T4 + bank statements.

Your mom must demonstrate strong ties to her home country:
1. Employment (6 months salary slips + employment letter + ITRs + leave approval letter)
2. Land ownership documents (also proofs of taxes paid or income earned, if any, from the land, or if she will construct on that land + current valuation)
3. Family ties (proofs your brother lives with her and he is dependent on her + any other immediate family who live with your mom)
4. Previous travel history
5. Good financial situation

Do not mention that you're inviting your mom to take care of you/your baby.... as this will mean working illegally on a TRV

Cheers

Hi bryanna. Thanks for the reply. Thats why Im worried. I cant provide bank statement right now bec i stopped working since oct aNd still waiting for my new wp. Should i just put LMIA copy plus the document i passed to cic? Thats why she decided to just apply 'regular' tourist visa and shoulder all tye expenses on.her own.

Thanks again

Since you're out of status in Canada right now - I would wait until you are back in status before your mother applies. Or alternatively, have her apply without the invitation letter. I would not include an invitation letter from someone with no status in Canada as part of a visitor visa application.
