Hello,

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from an Indian university, with 62.1% (5 backlogs). The rest of my profile is as follows:-

1 year's work experience in IT startup (Web Development)
GRE - 314 (verbal-155, quant-159)
TOEFL - 111 (R-26, L-29, S-26, W-30)
1 summer internship + Final year project certificate
3 recommendations (2 academic, 1 professional)

I'm applying to US and Canadian universities for a Master's in Computer Science (mainly looking for Applied Comp. Sc. as it pertains to industry requirements), and have considered the following universities:-

Concordia University (MSc Applied Comp Sc.)
University of Windsor (Msc Comp Sc.)
Memorial University (MSc Applied Comp Sc.)
Carleton University (MSc Comp. Sc.)

Just wanted to ask - do these Universities fit my profile? If so, would it be late applying for this Fall? What other Univs should I consider? Would greatly appreciate your help and suggestions.

God bless.

For Fall, 2014 session, I think the last dates are very close or closed for majority of universities and this is for both the countries. About your profile, as far as I know universities require 4 years of bachelor degree for you to be considered for Masters program. And thus before applying anywhere make sure you consider this requirement. Get in touch with the specific department or see the program specific requirements.

P.S - You have very good TOEFL score and GRE will add extra weight to your profile. Just saying :)

Good luck with admissions :)

Try to contact with the faculty members of CS department. If someone from them is willing to accept you as his/her Masters student then you can get the admission in that institute no matter deadlines has passed or not.

Thanks for the tip, but the Universities I mentioned above have their deadlines till April-May (for this Fall). But would it be advisable to apply at this time or should I try for Spring 2015?

Yes, sorry I think I missed that one out. I do have a 4 years undergrad degree. I just wanted to make sure if it would be of any significance applying now as the last dates are quite close (The Univs I mentioned above have their deadlines in April/May).

Admission offers are made on on-going basis so unless the university has closed it's application, you have a chance of making it. To be on the safer side and as advised by @usman_14pk, get in touch with the concerned department first :)

Alberta's deadline has passed long ago, and although they have an extension for exceptional students, my profile would probably not mean anything to them in that case.

As for Calgary, I missed it by almost a month.

Any other suggestions? I was considering Acadia and Winnipeg as well, but not sure if they're good for job/career prospects...

Alberta has a pre-screening process for Internetworking. If there is one for your program as well then again there is no harm in trying your luck :)
