Yes it's perfectly acceptable to send the application from abroad. The onus is on you to prove you will be returning to Canada. You need proof for example a letter from parents or friends about knowledge of your return and accomadation, school enrollment, housing, expiring visa or work contract in current country ect.

Good Luck!

You can order your Option C printout for the last year you filed taxes in Canada. If you worked in Canada prior to going to the Philipines then get the last year you filed. It's just to assure you're not collecting welfare or bankrupt.

Ok..I am not worried about proving my income I am just wondering how I can get documents when I am still in the Phils?? If I order the option C printout can a friend put it in the sponsor package?? I will be mailing the P.R. to him from here so he can add the info and then forward it to CIC..

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions::)))

You can get all the documents sent to a friend who will add it in and submit the package BUT make sure you put everthing together before you send it to this friend with VERY clear instructions on where to add what and where to send, etc. There would be nothing worse than intrusting it all to a friend only to find out later it was not submitted properly.

I had everything sent to me (statements from family/friends, tax documents, etc) so that I could put it all together myself and then I submitted it from over seas.

To clarify what KelKel was saying - the financial documents are not intended to prove your income (because there is no income requirement for spousal applications) but rather to demonstrate that you still have ties to Canada and are intending to return. I submitted tax returns for all the years I was overseas but filed in Canada, for example. The Option C printout is the only financial document required to show income and it IS mandatory.
