Applying SDS. UNB Research Based Program. Need Help

Hi!
I have been accepted in unb in meng civil engineering program which is a report based program (report to be written under supervision of professor) hence it is considered as a research based program by univerisity. Now they have sent me fee structure for 1 year and i have to pay fees by term. I have to register for 3 terms in an year (not written on LOA). There are no courses offered in summer semester but continuous enrollment is required in MEng Report course. I am going to apply for SDS. Total fees for 3 terms is 16k CAD and for 2 terms is 11K CAD. Now I want to know if i can pay 2 semester fees with GIC and get study permit under SDS. The duration of program is 1-2 years but normally it takes 1.5 years to complete. Can anybody guide me?

I think it depends on what document you are going to provide as proof of first-year tuition payment. If you can get a receipt from your university saying that you have paid for one year by actually paying for two terms, then just pay 11k CAD. If not, I suggest 16k.

In my case, I got a fee estimate letter from my school saying that my first-year tuition is 17k, but the tuition was actually 14k (the other 3k is insurance, etc.), and I am eligible for a scholarship of 6k that should be applied to my tuition (but I can only receive it upon enrollment).
Eventually I paid 17k and combined the fee estimate letter and the receipt as proof.
