Applying por PR (waiting for extension approval)

Hello everyone, I recently applied for an extension here in Canada (I'm on a visitor Visa) since my status expires in a month and while my husband and I wait for the marriage certificate.

The certificate came by mail today (super fast), so now we are wondering if we should wait till they answer my extension request and apply for PR then, or apply for PR now.

What would happen if they deny my extension request after I already applied for PR? Sorry is a bit confusing, I also intend to apply for a work permit along with PR. Thanks for any clarification

Apply now. No point in waiting.

If you apply for PR/OWP before your status expires and the visitor extension is refused, you will still have Implied Status from the OWP app. You would only have an issue if both the visitor extension app and the OWP app were refused, leaving you out of status.
