Can anyone give me information on how they have applied outland while staying in Canada as a visitor?
1. how do they allow you into Canada knowing you have this application going?
2. how long is the visa good for- 6 months? how are you able to renew it? what if you overstay the visa- will that be bad for the permanant residence application?
3. the interview would be in mexico city... so would they allow you back into canada after the interview or would have to wait in mexico until they give you your permanant residence?

And most importantly can anyone give me the timeline differences between inland and outland?

Inland takes a total of 2 years right? or would it be even longer?
while Outland is more like 1 year?

Generally outland is faster..

If you are allowed into Canada or not is totally dependent on you being able to prove to\convince the VISA officer that you do not wish to overstay your welcome in Canada (You have reason to come back to your home country). You can come to Canada and extend your stay, however if you over stay with out legally extending it, it will be a black mark on your PR application.

Mexico city uggg where in Canada are you for one
Outland is usally shorter in most cases if you get a visitors visa you can extend it before yours expires throught the website, and yes it would hurt if you dont keep legall status.
Im not sure what border your close too but you can apply outland to Buffalo and have all papers delivered to the canadian address.

You can only apply outland through Buffalo if you have been lawfully admitted to Canada or the US for at least one year.

Inland is generally roundabout 6 months for first stage approval, and then who knows how long for finalization. I believe Mexico City disposes of 30% of its sponsorship applications within 6 months and 80% within 14 months. Check the CIC website for processing times.

We applied outland and my partner is here in Canada, but I can't answer your questions as our circumstances were different (he was already in Canada when we met). We have just applied to have his visitor's visa extended.

I don't believe there's any guarantee you would be admitted back into Canada after the interview, however I have seen others on here recommend that you show proof of financial support (and even better, bring the Canadian spouse with you) to improve your chances.

Good luck.

OK here is our situation and maybe someone can advise on what is the best way to do the sponsorship:

we met in mexico. we will get married in mexico. then we will go to canada. we will apply after a month or two of being in canada (visitor visa).
so... should we just apply inland? or try to do it outland? i think we will live in vancouver.

also if you apply inland I guess it's ok if your visitor visa expires? or do you have to get an extension while approval is pending...

also if we are in canada applying inland we send the application to mexico city? or to a canadian office?

You still need to extend your visitor visa.... You will apply to the relevant CIC office in Canada..

or He s going to come for two months next june becaus he asked for a sabbatical year at work.how does it work to extend the visitor visa online if he intends to stay more? Is it possible to do it for European too or it is obliged to come back to Europe and after going back to Canada?

I might be wrong on this..but he can probably cross the border into the states and come back..that will be the easiest...less hassle..
