My spouse is applying for a permanent residency visa using the out land application, and we just received notice to send in her police certificate for the next stage. The problem is they only gave links to locations outside of Canada while she actually just came to Canada on a visitors visa to stay for 6 months. Question is, where do we send the police certificate in Canada, and if they will even accept it? The other thing is, her police certificate was acquired in October, and expired the month we sent in our application (December). Do we need to get a new one? It sounds like it could take up to 2 months as we need to send back the original to Japan, then travel to another city and explain why we need a new one, then wait for it to be sent back which could take up to 2 months from what we understand. Would be lovely if we didn't have to go through all that trouble :'(
