Hey, Im hoping someone can help!

I am just about ready to send in my outland application for common law sponsorship (My boyfriend of 4 years, we've lived together for 2 years). My problem is I am living in Canada with my boyfriend, but my 12 month visitor visa is about to end (in the past i have had 2 IEC visas and then this year long visitor visa). So I was wondering, can I send I'm my PR application, and then get an employer with an LMO to hire me before my visitor visa ends in January? Im not sure how it works, or would I have to apply to extend my visitor visa?

I am really hoping to be able to work in Canada whilst my PR app is being processed, otherwise at least be able to stay here as a visitor!

Thanks to anyone who has any input!!

Same thing happened to me.

I applied outland, but I'm here as a tourist. I lost my work permit, but at least I could be with my partner.
So, just change extend it and explain the reason.
They gave me 8 months and after that you can re-apply.

Extend your visitor visa and explain that you have applied for PR. Add the proof of that.
If you can find an employer willing to do a LMO for you, then go ahead. But just do the visitor visa extension, to be on the safe side.... if you're in Canada on a visitor visa, you're not allowed to work, but you're allowed to look for work - so you can look for a job, and if you find an employer willing to do an LMO, great. If not, you stay in Canada, don't work, and wait for the PR to come through.
