Hi is it possible for my wife to apply for a spouse sponsorship once I have returned to Canada, she is the citizen.

I am a UK citizen, we got married last year on 17th December 2017, I had to return home as we ran out off funds to apply for the application, though she had the funds to support me living with her.

I understand that once she has applied for the sponsorship for me, that I can apply for a work permit, that's not the issue, just returning and applying instead of applying while we are apart in different countries.

Thanks in advance for any info provided.

Inland spousal sponsorship requires the Principal Applicant to be living inside Canada when the application is submitted and during when been processed.

As a UK citizen....if you choose Inland Sponsorship with OWP......ensure you apply when your visa exempt status is still valid....as the OWP will not be approved if you are out-of-status.......and will advice you apply for visa extension, to remain in visitor status until you receive IRCC acknowledgement receipt of your Inland Sponsorship and OWP.......OWP will give you implied status until PR is approved.
