I am an International Student in the UK studying business management. My country of citizenship is Nigeria. I have been refused CIC TRV study permit 2 times based in a recent reason which states below:

1. Inability to prove that I will return home after my study
2. There is no proof of home tie of my current country of residence or home country
3. Personal financial and assets not declared.

Whereas, I have shown landed properties and 50,000CAD$ for study purpose and home tie. I am thinking the problem is about being in the UK, but I am not sure. Can someone give me a sound advice on how to go about these?

Do you show re entry permit to the UK after completion of study in canada?
were the properties on your name? or maybe mention about family back in your home country.
Have you showed financial on your names.

Travel history was part of the points mentioned in the last refusal. (I have been refused USA visa about 3 times but I didn't include it in the application for cic).

Answer to your question.

*I only showed my personal documents and credentials
*Property name was in my father's name which he wrote a letter to say that I'm allowed to use it for business in the future
*My big brother gave me his business account and wrote a letter that he's sponsoring me to gain knowledge.
He didn't write any employment letter though, cuz he said we are family so there won't be a need for that.

About my being in the uk, I have left my college and plan to change to Canadian school though I didn't finish my course there.

What do I do? Pls advise.

Not sure How else or what else the VO Want . as you have showed much i think.
Maybe one of their reason is that you didnt complete the studies in UK and you left the college while you remain in the country , thinking you might do same in canada.

You can give it a try again applying and Giving a strong explanation page, as to why you left school in UK and more document to show you will leave canada after studies. and also maybe Bank statement on your name

I see, this means there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks man.

One more thing, do you think I should include my USA previous refusals or there's no need for that? Now that there's biometric, does all those things link together? Kindly give a clear explanation about the refusal thing.

Yes i think you should, with USA and canada they might link
One more thing...your UK residency permit is it valid till end of the program you pursing in canada?

Like i reside in SA.. and the cic website says ---- (if you are a resident of South Africa and not a South African citizen or Permanent Resident you must have a South African re-entry permit valid until after your anticipated return to South Africa). so am thinking it applies to most ppl applying from a foreign country..Hope am right. so in this case, if you know the duration of course you applying to in canada is longer than the remain of your UK entry permit.. i would suggest you to lodge your application from your Home country, you do not need to include passport, only copies and travel history copies.. they will request your passport once they decide and want to approve. and make sure this time you gather neccessary genuine document and letters to back up the application.

There more reasons why VO refuses applications but most times they wont explain or write in letter.. they just say they not satisfied you leave canada after studies all that bla bla bla.

You can always get the permit as far as you work on the reason for previous refusal....

Reentry visa? My uk visa expires October 2014 and my college here has lost their license of being a highly trusted institution. That's also another reason I'm leaving. I don't plan going to apply from my home country because of additional cost. Is there a way out?

Do you think applying for a 2 year diploma course would be affected by this criteria?

A lot of confusion, pls give response.

I dont think condition of re entry permit applies to people that reside in UK , i check the cic site for UK ..i cant find such... so i think its OK that you apply ... its only on cic site for southafrica under application kit for study .

I applied to Concordia university college of Alberta. Have you reapplied for your visa again? And how did you deal with your home tie issue in Pakistan and UK.

No. I am still waiting for a reply. I am a mrried and my family in Pakistan.
As I notice that They refuse on one any key point some more they have to add even it does not make sens.
Your key point to be refused was money as I think anyway keep in contact so that l will keep you updated about my case and pry for me.

Hi Ayo,

I read your post and felt compelled to write too as this is my first time, I just read post and remained hopeful. I was denied the first time too in CIC london based on same reason they gave you, but now they have called for my passport. We share same profile but in my case I finished my course and came out with good grades from UK. My advise, Your statement of purpose should be very strong, honest and really really personal, the funds should be in your account here in UK in your name thats for Finance case and returning back use a Landed property in your name if you have or you can still use your parents but its best you have and above all pray to God cause trust me the VO might just be in a bad mood reviewing your file, they should do an evaluation on your parents assert i.e the landed property.

As for me its all God and nothing on me cause I never left UK since I gave.

All the best.

Thanks Bamzy, I have a fixed deposit in Nigeria which was included before. About home tie in the UK and home country, I have told my people here in the UK to write letter of recommendation and put their passport page as ID showing that I've been with them and if in case of anything, I have a place to fall back to and same as Nigeria. Also will state that my brother who is the owner of the company where I work wants me to change program. Lastly looking to contact an immigration lawyer or advocate to help with affidavit, will that do?

Hi Ayo,

I am not a VO officer but reading your explanation it might not really get you a strong case, as for getting an immigration lawyer though he can help a little but he/she is only in for the money. Presenting any account outside your current country of residence (UK in this case) is an automatic denial, I did that the first time too, its even stated in their website not to do so.

Please try and get the funds to UK and it shouldn't be your brothers decision to make you change a course trust me it doesn't sound nice.
