My boyfriend just applied for a visitor visa to come visit me in Canada. He lives in France but is not a french citizen so he needed a visa. Has anyone applied from France recently, if so how long did it take for you to get a decision after submitting biometrics? I am just shocked that the current processing time for France is 231 days.

Posted processing times are often incorrect. The numbers are often based on a period during Covid when many weren’t able to visit Canada. Would look at other people who have recently applied for more accurate estimates. Could be anywhere from weeks to months to get a approval/refusal. If application is being processed solely by AI it is usually few weks but if there is a manual review multiple months is typical. Summertime is a busy time for IRCC as well so would apply Multiple months in advance
