- FACTS -
- My wife is a canadian citizen by birth
- We've been married for 6+ years (have lived together in Canada, India and now back in Canada)
- I had a 2-yr canadian student visa earlier, then a 1-yr PG work permit. We left the country then
- We lived together for 3 yrs in India,
- Now, We are back in canada on a 6-month tourist visa sticker which expires on Dec 18, the border agent stamp allowed me to stay till Jan 29 on entry into canada (back in august)
PROBLEM
- I have to visit my brother for some urgent family issues for 2-months in France, but given that my visa expires, I CANNOT re-enter Canada unless i apply for a new TRV.
MOST IMPORTANT PRIORITIES
- My wife and I have everything ready for the PR, which is of top importance to us because i can't work till i have that and we need the income.
- We can't be separated
QUESTIONS
- What are my options?
1) Should i leave Canada, visit my brother, then go to india, and apply for a new TRV? Will they give back-to-back TRVs?
2) As my PR paperwork is ready, should i apply for outland PR BEFORE or AFTER applying for the TRV? I know about 'dual-intent' and that its difficult for people from visa-required countries to prove so.
3) Can I apply for the TRV directly from France (a 3rd country where i am entering as a tourist)? Saving me a trip home to apply for one?
3) Or stay in Canada, and apply for the PR, and just skip the trip to my brother - because i 'can' avoid it if need be - i just dont wanna risk not being able to re-enter
ANY help would be greatly appreciated
