Applying for TRV visa within Canada and Open work permit Extension - please help

Hi Guys,

I have heard so many great things about this forum and i am hoping to gain some advice on below:

I have an open work permit and I recently started working in Ontario --> Last week I applied for the extension of my open work permit. --> Can I apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) while my work permit extension is still under process?

Please let me know, Hopefully i can pass this information and help someone else in the future.

No, You need to get the work permit then you can apply for TRV
