Applying for TRV from Pakistan

Hi,

My wife is a Naturalized Canadian National and we've been married for more than a year now. Since our wedding, we've been living together with my parents in Pakistan.

We love to travel and this time of the year we were hoping to spend our vacations in Canada. However, I have gone through a number of threads on this forum where people have stated that it is highly unlikely to get a TRV processed when applying it from Islamabad Visa Office. So, we had to change our plans.

Now, I was just being curious about the fact that why is it so hard for a Pakistani National to get a TRV especially when he has a Canadian wife travelling with him?

Thanks

Because Pakistan is a country that has an extremely high risk of overstays, refugee claims, marriage fraud, and producing fradulent documents. It's also a country that requires biometric data prior to entry. That's why it has the longest processing time in the world for family class sponsorships, and that's why its one of the few countrires that require all documents to be originals and not photocopies.

If you haven't thought about it already, you should apply for your wife's PR here in Canada, so that you guys can enjoy the benefits of travelling on a Canadian passport, because Pakistani's don't get to travel to many countries visa free.

Hi mikeymyke,

Thank you for a prompt response. We will be applying for my PR, as being married to a Canadian wife goes to my advantage. However, if someone who doesn't have such an advantage still intends to visit Canada for tourism purposes from Pakistan; it'll be next to impossible for him/ her to get the visa processed?

Looking forward in hearing from you soon.

Thanks
