Hi everyone,

Just looking for advice from members here regarding my case. I am going to apply for TRV for my wife from Pakistan. We already applied for spousal sponsorship in February and it is going smoothly so far but based on timelines will take 6-9 months more processing. I know acceptance of TRV in this case is very low but we want to try our luck. I cannot go because not many vacation days. Inviting her here for a couple of months.

We will be sending following things with the visa application. Please leave any suggestions. Thanks!

- Stating that under "dual intent", she is able to apply for TRV while her PR application is in process. Will fully disclose sponsorship application number, etc.
- Travel history: Malaysia and Singapore visas from December 2016 and trips there for honeymoon at same time (2 weeks). No other travel history.
- Bank account in her name in Pakistan showing approximately $5000 CAD (will show monthly salary deposits each month for last year)
- Wife is doctor and completing residency this month. Will show letter for successful completion of 1 year residency training from May 2016-May 2017.
- Next job will be from September 1st in different hospital/clinic. Job application letter, interview letter, acceptance letter will be provided for this.
- Invitation letter from myself and from my wife's brother (also in Canada) inviting her to Canada
- My Bank account showing sufficient amount to support her while she visits here

Please leave any suggestions. Thank you!

"under dual intent" uh?

It is good that you fully disclose.

So then the max you can ask for her is 2 weeks. Maybe three weeks. A couple of months is out of place and there is no evidence inher travel hisotry she does this kind of trips on a regular basis.

- Bank account in her name in Pakistan showing approximately $5000 CAD (will show monthly salary deposits each month for last year)

Good.

- Wife is doctor and completing residency this month. Will show letter for successful completion of 1 year residency training from May 2016-May 2017.

Irrelevant. She has to show commitment for future dates not for past ones.

- Next job will be from September 1st in different hospital/clinic. Job application letter, interview letter, acceptance letter will be provided for this.

This doesn't make sense. She is trying to show a job application letter, but is waiting for PR to move to Canada. How can CIC consider this a tie to her country if she has already stated she is moving away from this?

- Invitation letter from myself and from my wife's brother (also in Canada) inviting her to Canada

OK.

- My Bank account showing sufficient amount to support her while she visits here

Irrelevant.

I see a weak application.
Good luck.

i was in this state 7 years back... I met an immigration judge on a flight and he told me its not good to apply for visitors visa when PR is under process.. not sure if the rules have changed now

There is no such thing as "not good".... maybe "not a good idea"... but there are no goods nor bads in this case.

Also this is the "judge's" opinion. An opinion is not a rule.
