May I know if anyone here on a temp work permit have applied for a TRV online? I keep answering the online eligibility tool/questionnaire and it keeps telling me I have to go for a medical test! I have applied for TRV before in the past and have never had to do a medical test. According to the CIC website below, none of the below applies. Any tips on how to answer the questionnaire so it'll allow me to apply online? Or perhaps there is a system glitch! I have tried revising the answers many times!
Medical exam requirements for temporary residents (visitors, students and workers)
If you plan to visit for six months or less:
You generally do not require a medical exam, unless you plan to work in certain occupations (see below). -------> I am applying for less than 6 mths TRV.
If you plan to visit for more than six months:
You will need a medical exam if you:
-have lived temporarily for six or more consecutive months
*in one or more of these countries or territories -------> Yes, but more than 10 years ago.
*in the one year immediately before the date you want to enter Canada. (This applies even if you are a citizen of a country that does not need a visa to enter Canada.) or -------> NO i have not. I have lived in Canada for 2.5 years.
- will come to Canada to work in an occupation in which public health must be protected. See below for jobs for which you need a medical exam. ------> NO. My job is not on the list. It is a regular office job.
- apply for a Parent and Grandparent Super Visa. ----> NO.
Also, has anyone got an online approval for work permit and applied for TRV, without the certificate? It is because I have been approved for a work permit but I don't know how long the certificate will take to reach me and I need the TRV to travel asap.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
