Applying for Study Permit

Hello,

I have got acceptance letter from xxx college in Canada for post-graduation certificate program for a period of 1 year (4months co-op) for Fall 2016. I'm Indian but I do not qualify for SPP since I have academic gap of 5years and also I have not taken IELTS. This forum has been of great help to me. I'm running out of time to apply for study permit. I'm afraid if I have missed something. I have few queries. I thought this is the right place to get answers.
Proof of funds
I tried for education loan and GIC but got to know that it is not possible before 29th of July. So I made alternative arrangements.

1. Full tuition fee has been paid and received receipt from college.
2. I have 2.9lakhs FD in my name.
1.9lakhs is at least 3months old.
1.0lakh is 1 week old.
3. My father is sponsor. He has 4lakhs worth FD at a nationalized bank which is at least 6 months old. Bank balance of at least 50k maintained from past 4months.

Are these enough for proof of funds?

I'm currently working. Should I give details about my current employment such as offer letter, pay slips, experience letter from previous employer? Are these mandatory for applicant?

Last, my work and the program are not related but my bachelor's degree and post-graduate certificate program are related. I have provided reasons for this in SOP. Will this affect my visa approval in anyway?

Thanks in advance :)

1. Whoever advised you that you are not eligible for SPP gave you wrong advice. My relative with 7+ years of academic gap (but was working all this while) got his visa under SPP. There are members on this forum who have got visa under spp with a gap of 5-11 years. Had you searched before, everything is there in detail for as latest as last year.

2. If you are funding your studies yourself, these funds are not sufficient. Others can advise much better on this. In general ITR is needed of your sponsor. You need to show more funds of your sponsor.

3. Unrelated course you can take care of that by a strong SOP.

Good Luck

Thanks for the response :)

I Intend to show that my father will sponsor my education. Below are the details of proof of funds.

1. Tuition Fee - Fully paid
2. Boarding & Living expense- $ 11,000 as per college
3. Air ticket - Booked

Now, I need to show that I have $11,000 for my living expense. For which I intend to show

FD worth 4,00,00 + Bank balance of 50,000 from my father
Letter from BSNL stating that he is an employee. 3 months pay slip.
His 2 years ITR. Affidavit for Letter of Support.
He has more FD invested but in co-operative bank. Can I show them too?

I have FD worth 2,90,000 at HDFC bank.
I have my ITR, pay slip to prove that its my savings.

Total funds sums up to ~ $14,000. Do I need to show more funds? I was of opinion that I should show $11000

Alternatively, can I show my husband's fund of 1,00,000 rs in HDFC bank?
We have his 2 years ITR, letter from employer, 4 months bank statement.
Do I need to get affidavit on his name too?

Thanks in Advance :)

My understanding is, and I maybe completely wrong about it, that only sponsor can show proof of funds. You seem to be combining others as well.

If you search on this thread (Correction : Forum) about proof of funds you will get more information. Also there's a CIC link for it. Please do your search and research diligently
before you apply. There are some very learned members on this forum who will give you much better insight than me.

Cheers and Good luck.

CIC mentions about submitting student's 4 month bank statement. So, I was in a belief that my funds lying in my account is also proof of fund.

Good luck. A well prepared file may delay your file submission by a day or two but it's worth it in the end.

I hope others chime in to give you more detailed and accurate reply.

Best wishes.

I have managed to improve my prospects in terms of proof of funds

1. Sponsor 1: Parents: 4,50,000 INR: Father's ITR, 3 month salary slip, Letter from Employer.
2. Sponsor 2: Mother-in-law: 7,50,000 INR: She is a house wife so no such documents available. I am mentioning in the affidavit that she is a home maker.

I am getting two affidavits. Each for a sponsor.

With this tally becomes $23,000 .

Considering tuition fee is already paid, I believe I know stand a better chance.

Any comments / feedback highly appreciated

Thanks in Advance :)
